If you have never been to Ally Pally, the view when you get there is amazing, you can see over the whole of London and it was a perfect clear blue sky kind of a day so you could see for miles - i'm sorry there are no pics but my little camera would not have done the view justice, you'll just have to take my word for it! But i have to say, its a sod of a place to get to!
Although there were some lovely stands
We did manage to make some purchases though and here are mine
and then were were these two lovely yarns (sorry pic bit blurred) I seem to have a theme of pinks and blues going on!!!
There were also some lovely quilting stands, so i just had to buy these
the colours are much better in real life!!!Its a shame that the catering facilities were rather poor - as i'm always needing tea to keep me going - if you read this post here you will see i was not the only one who thought so.
Some of the exhibits that were on display were lovely, especially the machine embroidery section - here are some that caught my eye
i just the middle pic - brilliant!
Surprises!!!! Yay - i was soo very lucky as last weekend i received two absolutely lovely surprise packages - the first was from Clara
who sent these lovely fabric packs - thank you sooo much! i love them!
The second was from this lovely lady
Marian weaves these beautiful scarves with the most lovely yarns and fibres and i was absolutely overwhelmed with such a generous and beautiful gift. Its all my favorite colours and is sooo soft - i will treaure it always! Thank you again Marian for such an amazing gift.
Well thats all for the moment, hope you have a lovely weekend - the sun is shining at the moment so am going to make the most of it.

Pleased you enjoyed the show but sorry you found it a pain to get to. Train is usually the best option! Even though I grew up around Wood Green and know the area well I still get the train.
But if we had caught the train just think how many fewer travel stories we would have to share!
What a lovely sounding day - even if you did have to share it with that madwoman who kept sending me cheeky texts!!!!

Glad you finally made it, and good trasure hunting too!
This is the first year for ages that I've not gone to Ally Pally. I found it all very expensive last year with loads of things totally unrelated to knitting or stitching. I quite agree with the refreshments thing aswell - even taking your own packed lunch doesn't work as there's nowhere inside to eat it. Glad you had a great time though - that view is lovely isn't it?
Oooh what yummy yarn and fabric!
I'm really going to have to come with you next time - although I might take the train!

Sounds like an adventurous road trip - wish I could have come. I have a thermos that would make tea. . .
Oh I peeped at this Maria and must have been called away by the tots as so often happens! I was envious of all the bloggers who went to this lovely event. Such prettiness and creativity! I've never heard of the woman you went with though - who is she?
oh come on Missus Pebble! That is just a bit harsh after those pints we watched the boys share.
It does sound like you had a good time overall.
You did manage to score some very yummy looking yarns and fabrics! Sorry about the tea and snacks though. Sounds like the event was not put together by the type of people who actually go to the show. Silly event planners! How can you NOT want a snack after contemplating all of those wonderful choices?
I am glad that you had a decent time over all.
Cathy
P.S. I posted a photo of your latest ATWQB block and your quilt as of 10/19 on Flickr.
